Art on the Move ceremony

Today was the day! Many of us had our first experience "behind the ribbon" of a ribbon cutting ceremony. Six of the twelve buses were on display in downtown Raleigh at Artsplosure, and the majority of the talented artists chosen to have their artwork displayed on the CAT buses showed to talk about their work and see it up close. I'm so proud of my friends and other artists who I had the opportunity to meet and chat with - The buses look great in person. If you happen to see one, hunt it down and check it out at its next stop! Unfortunately, Artsplosure got rained on a bit, but that didn't run off the crowd. Thank you to everyone who showed up and for all your support!

Steampunk Revolution

So, I have secluded myself to the "art cave" to create numerous works of steampunk related art in light of the new show. Below is just a preview of one of the pieces created. More to come!
And here's just a sample of how my workspace looks during the process. It may not be pretty, but it gets the job done (and it's just downright comfortable to be surrounded by sharp metal pieces!)

RAW local artist show Kaleidoscope

It's that time again - RAW is coming back to Raleigh! The Keleidoscope show is June 27th at the Lincoln Theatre. I'll be showcasing several steampunk and art nouveau inspired jewelry and paintings. Please check out my RAW page - I'll post more previews of what I'll be selling as the date closes in. If you purchase your tickets early ($15 early, $20 on the day), please select me as your supporting artist. I'll be making an event page on FaceBook soon! Come show support for several of our local artist (and bring me cookies and keep me company ;)

Art on the Move, on the move!

Finally! The winners of the Art on the Move contest for the Raleigh Arts Commission will be honored this weekend with the viewing of six of the twelve buses, as well as a speech from the mayor. Unfortunately, my bus will not be on display, but they are working on a second event to show of the second set of buses. Details of events below. Please come out this weekend and support these great local artists!
